Dear Students, Families, and Community Members,

Welcome to Discovery Academy! I am honored to serve as the Principal and to lead a school where curiosity, innovation, and academic excellence converge. Here at Discovery, our mission is to empower each student to excel academically, grow socially and emotionally, and become a lifelong learner prepared for the opportunities of tomorrow.

At Discovery Academy we believe that learning is most meaningful when students are actively engaged in inquiry, collaboration, and problem-solving. We focus on strong foundational knowledge in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and yet we also honor the importance of reading, writing, the arts, and social sciences—recognizing that well-rounded thinkers are equipped for the complexity of our world. Our students conduct investigations, gather and use information, and solve problems using scientific thinking and technological tools.

But academics are only part of the story. We strive to build a caring, inclusive school community where everyone—students, families, teachers, and staff—feels valued, respected, and supported. We celebrate diversity, encourage risk-taking in learning, and embrace a growth mindset—understanding that we often learn the most from our mistakes as we improve and move forward stronger than before.

Our faculty and staff are dedicated professionals who bring high expectations, creativity, and enthusiasm to their work so that each child can flourish. We partner with families as essential collaborators in this process, believing that education is most powerful when home and school work together toward common goals.

This year, I invite you to join us in making it a year of exploration, connection, and achievement. Whether it’s launching a design project, collaborating with classmates, publishing a written piece, or reflecting on personal growth, our students will make meaningful gains and have fun doing it.
